About Wellness Integrative Paths LLC

At Wellness Integrative Paths We specialize in assisting you integrate non-invasive therapies to address wellness needs, while understanding medical treatments that have been prescribed to you by your primary health care provider and/or specialist. Services are provided by an internal medicine physician and a laser therapist.

Dr. Carlos Parrado is an Internal Medicine physician, retired as Lieutenant Colonel for the U.S. Army Medical Corps after 22 years of service.  He currently is practicing medicine and is the Medical Director of Long Term Acute Care Hospital at Roosevelt Warm Springs Rehabilitation and Specialty Hospitals. There he also teaches medical and physician assistant students from Augusta University during their inpatient rotations. Dr. Parrado sees primary care patients in Acute Care Emergence Clinic Columbus, Georgia and practices Medical Acupuncture, Clinical Hypnosis, and Low Light Laser Therapy for Wellness Integrative Paths LLC.

 

Dr. Carlos Parrado Bio PicDr. Parrado’s military career included progressive clinical, teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities providing care both, inpatient and outpatient, to soldiers, retirees, and their families, and preventive medicine. He was also an Army Flight Surgeon whose duties included the care of Army aviators in peace and war, aircraft accident investigations, and Medical Evacuation of critically ill patients. During his duties as Chief of the Department of Medicine at Gorgas Army Community Hospital in Panama Dr. Parrado provided care to soldiers and their families.  He was selected as the Medical Consultant for the Commander in Chief’s United States Southern Command Health Promotion Team where he interacted with the civilian and military medical personnel lecturing on medical issues, assessment of local health facilities to be used by MILGROUP personnel and the personnel assigned to the US embassies in the region. In the military system, while on duty at Martin Army Hospital, Fort Benning, he  was one of the first physicians to train as a trainer on Education of Physicians on End of Life Issues.

In 2006 he trained in Medical Acupuncture and in 1999 in Clinical Hypnosis and is an approved consultant for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

In addition to his medical degree he also holds a Masters in Science in Health Science in Integrative Medicine.

 

Christina Bio Pic

Cristina Pena is passionate about health, wellness, helping people improve their lifestyle and achieve life goals.  In 2011 she launched Wellness Integrative Paths LLC in Columbus, Georgia to assist the community with health concerns, providing treatment modalities that did not involve medications.  She brought her extensive training and experience of service delivery to the community at large.

Cristina’s undergraduate work in Psychology is from Lehman College, NY, graduate work in Social Work Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University and Health Care Administration from the University of Maryland, University College. She is trained in End of Life Care, as a lifestyle and weight loss coach, is a Master Neurolinguistics Programming practitioner, Master Time Line Therapist, and Master hypnotherapist. She is also a certified laser therapist (photo biomodulation) trained by Dr. Weber of Weberneedle, Germany, Dr. Khan of Bioflex Meditech International, Canada, Thor Laser Corporation, England, ad Celluma, BioPhotas, United States.

Her career includes positions counseling and coordinating services for the families and the children at  United Cerebral Palsy Early Development Program Bronx Center, NYC, evaluation and habilitation of adults outplaced of State Mental Health Institutions for United Cerebral Palsy of D.C and Virginia, as habilitation Specialist for clients of ReVisions, Baltimore, MD, Director of Family Services for The Children and Family Development Project of Baltimore City, MD. She served the military as a civilian as Director of Special Programs in Mental Health for United States Southern Command, Panama, and a consultant who traveled with the CINC’S health team to US embassies in Latin America. She initiated and headed the Victim Assistance Program for survivors of sexual assault, coordinating services and updating medical and legal intervention protocols for the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines stationed in Panama, the US embassies throughout Latin America, and the host nation.  She was a consultant for the Department of Defense School System and was a speaker at the conferences at the Panama Canal Zone, the Association for the President’s Women Lawyers in the City of Panama, and other countries in Central and South America for issues relating to wellness, family violence and sexual assault.

She currently owns and serves as Director of Clinical Services at Wellness Integrative Paths, LLC.
